The ultimate objective of the Project is to enhance export of horticulture products of Punjab by 30% through broad-based economic transformation of the horticulture industry. A number of initiatives have been designed to create trade linkages with domestic and international markets. To achieve the set objectives, project activities have been divided into four components which are explained below:
For banding of Punjab’s Horticulture produce, called PAK GAP. Project with the help of experts will develop procedures, manuals, guidelines and best practices to ensure that pre-production, production, harvest and post-harvest handling (Farm to Pack House) chain is fully traceable.
Capacity of the farmers/producers/suppliers / processors and support service providers will be built in compliance with the requirements of protocol of required global certification i.e. Global GAP ,IFS, HACCP, FSSC 22000, and BRC with subsidized fee.
Fifty Common Facility Centers CFCs will be established in different core production areas to cater the needs of all value chains and markets linked with certified farms and international /domestic markets, quality assurance of these CFCs will be done according to the PAK / G GAP Protocols.
Establish linkages of buyers and producers internationally and in domestic market through physical and virtual marketing approaches. Support in marketing through local and international expos and product promotional campaigns globally and in domestic market. Open access to buyers, sellers and relevant stakeholders locally and globally.
